What To Expect
* Kambo should always be administered by a trained practitioner or someone who has extensive experience and who supervises your treatment at all times.
What Is A Kambo Session Like?
Kambo applications are given in a private 1-on-1 treatment or group setting. Each participant will have a private consultation with me regarding their treatment and intention for receiving Kambo. In that time any questions pertaining to the treatment will be answered directly. Together the recipient and i will take time to develop a specific treatment plan based on each clients intention, goals, physical/emotional condition and previous experience with Kambo.
Kambo treatments are held in an intentional space conducive for client healing. Great attention and care is taken to ensure the Kambo application is given in a space that is safe and comfortable for those receiving treatment.
Once settled, the ceremony begins. In the 15 minutes leading up to the application of Kambo you will drink a monitored amount of water to aid in the removal of toxins and the secretion will be administered.
The Kambo experience can be very intense and uncomfortable and the effects are almost immediate, but the good news is it only lasts between 20 – 40 min. The immediate effects include a rise in temperature (the feeling of being hot), rapid heart rate, flushing of the face or skin, sweat and nausea. Other effects may include pain or pressure in the body, the feeling of cold causing the body to shiver or shake, dry mouth, blurry vision, and tingling. Fainting is another natural occurrence during a session, but do not fear because it is perfectly normal. You may also feel Kambo’s innate intelligence as it goes directly to the areas of your body and mind that need attention.
After a few minutes you may feel your stomach contract and have a powerful urge to purge. Bile often comes up with the purge as the liver and gallbladder flush waste out of your body. It is quite common to use the bathroom during and after the ceremony. Although this is all an admittedly uncomfortable experience, some people say the discomfort is an integral part of the spiritual and physical cleansing process—by purging deep-seated toxins, you come out the other side of the experience feeling calmer, cleaner, more focused, and more in line with your true self.
The sensations of discomfort is not to be confused with Kambo inducing sickness or harm, but these are the toxins that Kambo is assisting to bring to surface so they can be cleared from the body”. Simply breathe into the cleansing sensations, and allow the Spirit of the Frog to purify and fortify you.
After, carefully eyeing your process as the practitioner and seeing that Kambo has done its work, I will gently wipe the secretion from where the points have been applied. You will feel the need to rest which you are strictly encouraged to, taking your time to regenerate. You will be offered tea with honey and a small snack to replenish your electrolytes soon after.
Directly following your treatment, many feel energized with increased stamina, lightness in the body and mind, and/or very peaceful and calm. For some, you may still feel weak and tired for the rest of the day to a few days, which is also normal. Depending on your personal state of health, you will eventually begin to feel the lasting benefits of Kambo!
The Initial Experience

How Is Kambo Applied?
Small superficial burns ( more shallow then a blister) are applied to the skin and the very top layer
is gently and carefully wiped off. The secretion is applied directly onto the skin's opening called a ‘gate’ . The location of these gates will be based on the type of treatment with consideration for tattoos, aesthetics and scars.
How Long Does The Session Last?
Although the most intense effects last between 20-40 min. A typical ceremony lasts around 3 hours (including post consultation and aftercare). However, i will not allow you to go home until you are well rested.

What are other ritual medicine that may be used during your Kambo session?
Hapé (pronounced ‘hapay’)
Hapé may be used during your Kambo treatment to aid the purging process and to clear blockages. Hapé is a medicinal snuff made of ash , tobacco and various plant materials. It is blown into both nostrils through a pipe called a Tepi and is said to connect one more firmly within their mind and bodies in addition to the amazon forest itself. There are many varieties of snuff made by various tribes used to assist in meditation, induce visions, connect with nature, induce relaxation or to stimulate a deep purge.
Sananga
Sananga is a traditional eye medicine made from the shredded roots of a shrub called Tabernaemontana Undulata. It has been used for thousands of years by the tribes of the upper Amazon to heal physical and energetic levels. It is said to clear depression, negative though patterns and psychosomatic ailments. On a physical level, Sananga cleans and refreshes the eyes and has been used to treat glaucoma, cataracts, astigmatism, conjunctivitis, dry/red eyes, eye infections, sinusitis and chronic headaches. Sananga may be offered after your Kambo treatment to support the cleansing process.
*If you are interested in receiving Hapé or Sananga before or after your Kambo treatment, talk with me beforehand. During a Kambo session, i may suggest it as a way to help move energy. You are always welcome to decline this idea and i will never pressure you to take it. More about hapeh here
Aftercare
After the dots of Kambo are removed, the points are dressed with a Peruvian tree sap
solution ‘Sangre de Grado’ (Dragon’s Blood). This helps them to heal faster and ensures
they stay free from infection until they scab naturally within a day or two.
The burn marks will heal and fade with time, but depending on your skin color and type
you may always have small visible scars. Most people see their Kambo marks as a badge
of honor. The same burn points can be reused after 2-3 months.
For the first time, Kambo is applied traditionally on the arm. Any session afterwards Kambo can be applied to energetic points on the body through the use of meridian, chakra and auricular systems. Kambo Sessions can target specific areas that align for balance, adjustment of energy flow and rapid transformation. Different types of treatments are incorporated to aid in the journey of the recipient.
.

Auricular:
Working with acupuncture systems of the ear from both the chinese systems are those developed by Dr Paul Noiser enables many of the areas of the body to be targeted from the ear itself. Some recipients have claimed that kambo solely applied to the ears gives a slightly more tolerable experience.

Chakras:
Working with the seven energy centres of the body we can free up major energetic blockages in the body mind system
If energy is imbalanced in one or more of these chakras, that area manifests as a struggle in life:
7. Crown – Our ability to be fully connected spiritually.
6. Third Eye – Our ability to focus on and see the big picture.
5. Throat – Our ability to communicate.
4. Heart – Our ability to give and receive love.
3. Solar Plexus – Our ability to be confident and in-control of our lives.
2. Sacral – Our connection and ability to accept others and new experiences
1. Root – Our foundation, feeling safe, secure and grounded.

Meridian:
In TCM, meridians are internal energy pathways running through the body which energetically connects the bodies organs. Through precise positioning of kambo points, we can strengthen organs by opening up the energy flow that was once blocked or weak and address several different types of issues. Emotions and physical health are intimately connected, so we can expect a balanced response also.
